The CAI Program

 

Our program facilitates the connection between students studying in top universities in Singapore and Chilean companies, so they can experiment a professional experience in a offshore company. Through the program, students will gain professional experience working in an offshore company. As the ASEAN local associate, you will get to provide the receiving companies with an outward view about their businesses, and advise them on how to access and operate within the ASEAN market.

The participating companies belong to a variety of areas, covering different business. These include: 

  • Fintech

  • Import/Exports

  • Investment

  • Construction

  • Manufacturing

  • Others

As the official and business language in Chile is Spanish, all companies will provide an English speaking tutor who will be in charge of the integration of the intern to the company and his tasks in the project.

Application

Fill in the web application form and describe your interests. CAIP staff will search for your ideal internship position.

Application Selection

The CAIP staff will deliver your CV to the corresponding company. Selected applicants will go through an virtual interview with the CAIP staff and then with the company manager in charge of the process.

Internship coordination

After the CAIP staff comunicate the results of your application, the selected interns, will be assisted in all they need for the internship (air ticket, accommodation, visa, etc).

FAQ

 
  1. How much time does the Visa allows me to stay and work in Chile?
    The temporary resident visa allows to work and stay for maximum 1 year. 

  2. Are the internships paid?
    Companies normally provide a stipend from $520 sgd to $1.300 sgd

  3. Does the program have a cost?
    Yes. For NTU students, please consult Undergraduate Career Services on the financial schemes. For NUS students, please consult the Center for Future-ready Graduates.

  4. What other costs do I have to incur?
    Air ticket 2.2K sgd, monthly expense (food) 300 sgd, insurance 260 sgd, visa 100 sgd (all cost are approximate).

  5. All internships in the program are in Santiago (capital of Chile)?​

    Most internships are in Santiago but a few could be in the north or south.

  6. Will the CAIP staff assists me in my on board needs before travelling?​

    Yes, CAIP staff will make sure you could have the best accommodation set before travelling and guide you in everything you need.

  7. What is the internship duration?​

    The internships typically last between 20 to 24 weeks, starting on January, or 10 to 12 weeks from May to July or September to November.

  8. How is the weather in Santiago?​

    Santiago has the 4 seasons:
    – Summer (Dec-Feb) with temperatures from 14°C to 30°C
    – Autumn (Mar-May) with temperatures from 8°C to 22°C. Could be rainy
    – Winter (Jun-Aug) with temperatures from 3°C to 16°C.  Could be rainy  
    – Spring (Sep-Nov) with temperatures from 8°C to 22°C.
